It's a brand new year! Production at the Blender Animation Studio haven't stopped during the holidays.

Work has been happening on all fronts, from concept art to sculpting and even rigging.

Hop on to the Browse Project section and you will find:

  • New Animatic: A completely new approach to the movie. Gone is 3D, back are the post-its but this time with a temporary soundtrack by Andy and Francesco that gives it a whole other dimension
  • Concept Art: Get a feeling of the environment and old Spring & Autumn by David Revoy
  • Creatures!: Meet the alpha creature in these great sculpts by Julien
  • Rig feedback: Hjalti & Pablo Fournier share some notes about the rig of Spring with Juan Pablo (he works remote)

What about the rest of the studio? Hard at work of course! Dr. Sergey keeps working on getting Blender 2.8 up-to-speed (and casually making SubSurf much faster), while Dr. Sybren has been polishing our render farm software Flamenco.

We hope these updates get you as excited as we are sharing them. Spring is gonna be awesome.
